Grand Auction
The Grand Auction of all carvings large and small starts around 1630hrs, once the prize giving has finished.
It is a live in person event- there are no online bids or reserves.
If you are attending only to buy a carving the entry fee still applies until the Carvings that have placed have been sold and then entry is by donation.
The Auction is conducted by a professional auctioneer and is fast. You do not have to pre-register to bid.
There is a support team in the arena .
For the Large Carvings they will
- introduce the winning bidders to the carvers who take their own payment for these, please check the payment methods they accept which is on their posters and in the event programme and the website on the day.
- take details of your name and contact details, the Carving Number, whether you wish to collect after the event field is cleared of the public and traders or
- whether you wish it to be transported to secure storage by MKM Aviemore.
You can then arrange directly with MKM or pick your carving up or negotiate a delivery fee with them. Copies of the information will be stapled to the carving, you will have a copy and MKM have a copy.
For the Quick Carves – these funds go to the community as an appreciation from the carvers
The auction team will
- Take payment either cash or card
- give you documentation for your carving and you can collect it once the event field is cleared.
Prices
These are vary variable as it is about personal preference. Large carvings might be a couple of hundred to
over £1200. Small carvings can be £20 to £250.
Whatever the price you will have a unique piece at a great price and if you miss out then the Carvers do take commissions but these may be more expensive than the Auction.
