Chief Judge - Rosie Reid
Rosie leads the judging team with a deep understanding of sculptural form, artistic intention and technical execution. Her background in creative evaluation and long standing involvement with Carve Carrbridge make her the anchor of the competition’s standards.
Rosie is know for her ability to ‘read’ the carvings- seeing not only the finished form but the intention, movement and emotion behind it.

David Mills - Timber Consultant
David is one of Scotland’s most experienced timber specialists bringing over 35 years expertise in sustainable forestry practices. He is a Chartered wood Scientists and has held senior roles in the sector in the North of Scotland.
His consultancy DMM Timber Services supports sawmills, timber processors and forestry operations with technical advice.
Rona Kant
Rona brings a fine art perspective shaped by years of experience in design and creative critique. Her eye for balance, originality and artistic risk makes her a champion of innovation within the competition.
She is widely respected for rewarding bold creativity when it is backed by technical mastery.

Will Anderson - CEO Seafield and Strathspey Estates
Will is a Chartered Forester with over 35 years of experience in forestry and land management across the north and north east of Scotland.
As CEO of Seafield and Strathspey Estates he oversees, the conservation of Ancient Caledonian Pine Forest, managing timber across thousands of hectares, deer managements and ecological regeneration.
Will ensures that Carve Carrbridge remains deeply connected to sustainable land Stewardship and the heritages of Strathspey’s Forests
Justin Prigmore
Justin’s Work is rooted in Nature, ecology and expressive form – these themes resonate strongly with the outdoor setting of Carve Carrbridge.
As a judge Justin reflects the sensitivity to movement, character and the ‘life’ within the carving.

Matthew Steele - Operations Manager, Landmark Forest Adventure Park
Landmark Forest Adventure Parks is one of Scotland’s leading family attractions welcoming visitors for over 55 years and has been voted in the top 10 visitor attractions in the UK.
As their Operations Manager, Matthew joined the judging panel in 2025 and was blown away not just by the carvings but also the family friendliness of the event as a whole.
